London Swifties Will Attend Wembley Concert Despite Fears

Fans of pop star Taylor Swift, known as Swifties, in London said they were feeling panicked and scared after hearing news of a planned attack on her concert in Vienna. But on Thursday (8/8) they said it would not deter them from attending the singer's concert at Wembley Stadium. Swift's three concerts in Vienna, which were expected to draw 195,000 people, were canceled this week after police said they had foiled a terror plot by a 19-year-old Austrian man who intended to attack Swift's fans with a bomb or knife. Lorelei Petchu, president of the Taylor Swift Society at UCL, said she was considering selling her tickets after the Vienna concert was cancelled. “For a few hours, we calmed down, we saw the statements that were put out and I think we now feel comfortable going again.” Meanwhile, Katie Su, president of the Taylor Swift fan club at the University of the Arts London who has attended several previous shows on the tour, including in London, said she was a little scared, “but I’m going.” Katie, who already has tickets for Swift’s concert next week, added that “compared to when I was in other cities for the Eras tour, security …
