On Saturday morning, MSNBC "The Weekend" co-hosts Alicia Menendez and Michael Steele laughed at new claims Donald Trump recently made about how popular he is with voters. As former RNC chair Steele jokingly put it, it appears that the former president must be getting high lately.Reacting to the former president speaking to reporters earlier this week at his Mar-a-Lago resort, where he claimed he drew more people to the Washington Mall than legendary civil rights icon Martin Luther King did in1963 for his "I have a dream" speech, Steele and Menendez couldn't control their amusement at the bizarre claim.ALSO READ: Bombshell secret training videos detail how a second Trump administration would operateAfter sharing a clip of Trump talking about his speech drawing massive crowds and then adding, "My people, a lot of the MAGA as they call them, the base, I think the base is 75% of the country, far beyond the Republican party because we are a party of common sense and I am a person of common sense," Steele had a few things to say."It is very clear Donald Trump is taking advantage of the marijuana laws of Florida because that brother must be high as hell thinking that," the laughing MSNBC host remarked causing his co-host to join in."Comparing himself to Martin Luther King," he continued. "You know what, Donald? The only difference between the real estate in 1963, and the real estate in 2017 is Martin Luther King. That is the biggest difference — you ain't him.""This is the thing that kills me," he added. "One of the things that really bothers me about that press conference, and we will maybe talk about it a little later on , is, the way the press lets all of that slide, and not really push back and go, 'Really? On what grounds do you think your events and Martin Luther King's events align the same?'"Watch below or at the link. - YouTube youtu.be
