Hasina Doesn't Resign Before Fleeing to Delhi

Sheikh Hasina's son and adviser said Saturday morning that the former Bangladesh prime minister did not resign from her post before fleeing to India this week, even as anti-government protesters were demonstrating outside her official residence. Hasina has been in exile in New Delhi since Monday after the uprising that killed about 300 people, many of them students, and ended her 15-year rule in the country of 170 million. “My mother never formally resigned. She never got around to it,” Hasina's son, Sajeeb Wazed, told Reuters from Washington. “He had planned to make a statement and tender his resignation. But then protesters started demonstrating at the prime minister's residence. And there was no time. My mother didn't even have time to pack.
