Kim Jong Un Slams South Korean Media Over 'Rumors' of Flood Damage

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un accused South Korean media of spreading rumors about flood damage that has claimed lives in his country, state media said Saturday, days after Seoul offered humanitarian aid. North Korea reported earlier this week that floods in the north had killed an unspecified number of people and damaged thousands of homes. On Thursday, Seoul expressed readiness to “immediately extend” humanitarian aid to “disaster victims in North Korea,” after South Korean news reports estimated the death toll and missing at up to 1,500.
