At least 154 houses in Parigi Moutong Regency, Central Sulawesi, were flooded due to very heavy rain which caused the river to overflow. The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) said that 177 families or 587 residents were affected by this flood. However, until this report was submitted, no residents had been reported to have evacuated. Around 154 houses, 100 hectares of plantations and 70 hectares of rice fields were flooded. BPBD Parigi Moutong said it had coordinated with all parties to ensure the assessment and handling of affected residents. Meanwhile, BNPB appealed to residents, especially those living in Parigi Moutong Regency, to always be alert regarding the potential risk of further flooding. (em/jm)
