House Republican claims immigrants eating park ducks

Just days after a school shooting in his district, a Georgia Republican congressman was focused on another issue Monday as he sent out a warning about immigrants eating ducks in parks. Rep. Mike Collins (R-GA) made the claim in a post on X on Monday. "They're in the park. Grabbing up ducks. By the neck. And eatin 'em," he wrote. Collins was likely referring to a recent City Commission meeting in Springfield, Ohio, where a resident made the unfounded assertion the Haitian immigrants were eating ducks and pets. "Bro, they're in the park grabbing up ducks by their necks and cutting their heads off and eating them," the man said. ALSO READ: Is Trump's dementia the real reason behind his flip-flopping? On Monday, the Springfield Police Division told the Springfield News-Sun that there had been no reports of abducted pets. Collins' statement comes just days after four people were killed in his district during a shooting at Apalachee High School.
