In Ukraine, the damage caused by the war, until the beginning of this year, reaches the figure of over 150 billion dollars, according to the Faculty of Economics of Kyiv. But some researchers in the United States, alongside Ukrainian anti-corruption activists, are already planning for the postwar period and reconstruction. According to Voice of America correspondent Iulia Iarmolenko, Princeton University recently created a legal database to aid these efforts. Attracting Western investment to Ukraine and reducing corruption during the country's reconstruction efforts are the two goals of a new project by Princeton University's Faculty of International Relations and Public Affairs. In June, the university's Program for Innovation and Successful Society began compiling a detailed database of Ukrainian reconstruction laws. The program's director, Jennifer Widner, says the database makes it easier for companies to learn Ukrainian laws, which can be difficult to understand, and do business in Ukraine. “It will help private companies decide whether to participate because they will consider the legal position, weaknesses and legal opportunities,” she says.
