Kosovo, the new school year begins

More than 300,000 students in Kosovo started the new school year on Monday, amid concerns raised by the opposition about delayed preparations by the government and warnings by unions of strikes and other union actions if their demands are not met. The United Education Union, among other things, demands an increase in salaries for teachers, while warning of union actions if the dialogue with the institutions does not yield results. The union of the private sector of Kosovo had announced a strike of technical employees in the schools of Pristina.
