Israeli attacks across Gaza, 18 people killed

Palestinian officials announced that at least 18 people, including 8 children, were killed as a result of Israeli airstrikes throughout the Gaza Strip. Palestinian officials said three people were missing after the attack. Another attack on Monday evening hit a building in central Gaza City, killing a child, three women and a man, according to the Gaza Health Ministry. Palestinian health officials did not say whether those killed in the Israeli strikes were civilians or militants. Israel says it is trying to avoid civilian casualties and accuses Hamas of putting them at risk by fighting in residential areas. But the military rarely comments on individual attacks, which often kill women and children.
