Israel strikes Gaza, 14 killed

On Saturday, as a result of Israeli airstrikes that hit the central and southern part of Gaza, at least 14 people were killed. Eleven of the victims were in one house, among them three women and four children. One of the attacks hit a tent in the town of Khan Younis housing Palestinians displaced by the war, the Gaza Civil Defense said on Saturday. Saturday's attacks follow those carried out earlier this week, which hit a tent camp on Tuesday and a United Nations school on Wednesday. Meanwhile in Turkey, the burial ceremony of 26-year-old Turkish-American activist Aysenur Ezgi Eygi was held, who was buried in her hometown of Didim. The Israeli military said the activist, who lived in Seattle, US, was likely shot “indirectly and unintentionally” by Israeli forces in the occupied West Bank on September 6. Turkey announced that it will conduct its own investigation into the case. An Israeli protester, a witness at the scene, said the activist was killed after a demonstration against Israeli settlements.
