Police in central Pakistan on Monday (29/7) arrested a leader of a right-wing Islamist party on charges of ordering the killing of the country's top judge over his alleged support for the Ahmadiyah minority. According to an official police complaint, Zaheerul Hassan Shah, deputy chief of Tehreek-e-Labaik Pakistan, or TLP, was detained under anti-terrorism laws in Punjab, the country's most populous province. The arrest came a day after Shah was seen in a video that went viral on social media, announcing to a crowd of TLP supporters that he would personally give 10 million rupees or around 585 million rupiah to whoever beheads Chief Justice Qazi Faez.
