Ten Commandments posters coming to UCISD classrooms

Uvalde’s school district is collaborating with local faith-based nonprofit Peace Ministries to hang over 300 Ten Commandments posters in each of its classrooms. On Sept. 1, SB 10 went into effect, which mandates that all Texas public school classrooms must post the biblical teachings in a “conspicuous place.” The law allows schools to purchase posters for their classrooms, but if they don’t they are required to accept and display donations. “Given the district’s financial constraints, we are working with donors to provide copies of the posters for display in all schools,” district spokesperson Anne Marie Espinoza said on Sept. 9.
