The key topic of talks between Ukraine’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrii Sybiha and UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy was the practical implementation of the 100 Year Partnership Agreement between the two countries. Sybiha made this statement during a joint press conference with Lammy in Kyiv, as reported by Ukrinform. The Ukrainian diplomat expressed gratitude to his UK counterpart for his visit and courage. "Air raid alarms sounded throughout the night in Kyiv and other regions, and Iran-made drones launched by Russia continued to terrorize our country. Yet, this did not stop you and your delegation from being here with us in the capital of Ukraine, and we deeply appreciate it," Sybiha stated. He added that the visit reflects Britain’s global leadership and proves that support for Ukraine remains unwavering under any circumstances. "Our leaders have signed a 100 Year Partnership Agreement between Ukraine and the United Kingdom. This is a very important document, and today, the main topic of our discussions was its practical implementation," Sybiha said. During the talks, both sides also discussed further military aid to Ukraine, increasing sanctions pressure on Russia, and raising the cost of war for the aggressor. Strengthening Ukraine’s defense capabilities, particularly air defense, was also a key focus. Additionally, they explored expanding the UK-led Interflex training program for Ukrainian troops. "We paid special attention to developing Ukraine’s defense industry, including expanding our long-range capabilities. A priority is drone production, which plays a crucial role in modern warfare. I urged the British side to scale up investments in Ukraine’s arms production, and I am confident in a positive response," Sybiha emphasized. As Ukrinform reported, UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy arrived in Kyiv on February 5. On January 16, President Volodymyr Zelensky and UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer signed a 100 Year Partnership Agreement, aimed at deepening bilateral defense cooperation and ensuring continued military support for Kyiv.
