Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Rustem Umerov held a meeting with EU Commissioner for Defense and Space Andrius Kubilius and his team. Umerov announced this on Facebook, according to Ukrinform. The parties discussed Ukraine's integration into the European defense industry and the development of key initiatives, including Build with Ukraine and Drone Wall. They also addressed the continuation of sanctions pressure on Russia, the use of frozen assets, and mechanisms for reparations loans to support Ukraine's recovery and strengthen its defense infrastructure. Umerov expressed gratitude to the EU for its defense support, briefed partners on the situation at the front, and outlined the needs of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Kubilius earlier stated that the European Union should include Ukraine in its defense planning to enhance protection against potential Russian aggression.
