The US International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) has made an initial investment commitment of $75 million to the American-Ukrainian Reconstruction Investment Fund, while Ukraine will double this contribution, creating a total starting capital of $150 million. This was announced by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko on Telegram. “The Reconstruction Investment Fund begins its operational work — we have the first contribution! The US DFC has committed $75 million, and Ukraine will double this amount. This forms the starting capital of $150 million for the Fund,” Svyrydenko wrote. She emphasized that the fund will initially focus on projects in energy, infrastructure, and critical minerals, aiming to implement three major projects by the end of 2026. “The fund is built on the principle of equality. Ukraine assumes the same financial obligations as the US. This not only shows our responsibility but also highlights that we consider the Fund a joint tool for reconstruction and long-term cooperation,” Svyrydenko added. According to the Prime Minister, the fund will enable the financing of large-scale projects, the creation of modern production facilities, new jobs, and technological solutions that will strengthen Ukraine’s economy and security. She also noted that the US investment provides an additional guarantee of safety for both Ukraine and American businesses operating in the country. The fund was officially launched on May 23, 2025, following the ratification of the agreement by the Ukrainian parliament on May 8. The fund pools contributions from the US and Ukraine to support projects in natural resource extraction, oil and gas, ports, and related infrastructure, helping to drive Ukraine’s long-term recovery and economic development.
