Before the start of the inaugural Peace Summit, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Swiss President Viola Amherd. FREEDOM reports this with reference to the press service of the head of state. The President of Ukraine thanked Switzerland and Amherd personally for their leadership and cooperation in organizing the inaugural Global Peace Summit. During the meeting, they discussed the latest preparations and technical details of organizing the summit, finalized the final communiqué and paid special attention to the future action plan. The leaders noted that the inaugural Peace Summit was able to attract an unprecedented representation of participants - 101 countries and international organizations from all continents: Latin America; Middle East and Asia, Africa, Europe, Pacific, Australia, North America. Two thirds of the participating countries are represented at the highest level. “Another part of the countries and leaders showed interest in our summit and responded to the peacemaking impulse of the peace formula. And even if they are not here today, at the first summit, we managed to return to the world the idea that collective efforts can stop the war and establish a just world. This idea will definitely work, because peace has power,” Zelenskyy said. The President of Ukraine presented the peace formula during the G20 (Group of Twenty) leaders' summit in Indonesia in November 2022. Subsequently, four meetings of national security advisers took place: in Copenhagen, Jeddah, Malta and Davos. After the last such meeting and Zelensky's visit to Switzerland this year, preparations for the inaugural Peace Summit began in January. During the summit, participants will discuss three topics: nuclear safety, food security; release of all prisoners and deported Ukrainians.
