FREEDOM in May: refuting myths about the “fatigue” of Ukraine’s partners and exposing war crimes of the Russian Federation

In May, the foreign Russian-speaking audience of the FREEDOM TV channel focused on exposing war crimes of the Russian army, the attitude of Russians towards indigenous peoples of the Russian Federation and labor migrants, maintaining the frontline by the Ukrainian Defense Forces in the Kharkiv direction, and international support for Ukraine in the war with Russia. In May, the total number of views of content under the FREEDOM brand on various digital platforms of the State Enterprise IBMPU (YouTube, Facebook, Telegram, X, TikTok) and on the platforms of partners amounted to 212.6 million.* For the entire period of its work, this indicator reached 10.7 billion views. The weighted average of views from abroad for the YouTube channels of the State Enterprise IBMPU and its partners was 78.6%, while the YouTube channels of Ukrainian international broadcasting FREEDOM and FREEDOM.LIVE had 90.6% of views from abroad, including 60.8% from the Russian Federation.  The new issue of the program "Everything is so obvious" with the editor-in-chief of FREEDOM, Yegor Skoryna, refutes the Russian propaganda narrative that the West is tired of supporting Ukraine in its defense against Russian aggression. The issue received 215 thousand views, 75.8% from abroad, including 37.6% from Russia, 4.7% from the United States, 4.4% from Kazakhstan, and 3.6% from Belarus. Top cities by views are: Moscow, St. Petersburg, Krasnodar, Yekaterinburg, and Almaty. The crimes of the Russian army in the temporarily occupied territories: the killing of civilian Ukrainians by the Russian military for entertainment and intimidation, maniacal sadism and torture, the hell of filtration camps, and the concealment of traces of crimes - these were the topics of the latest episode of the "Special Report" project with Olha Mykhaliuk, which received 187 thousand views, of which 73.1% came from abroad, including 37.5% from Russia, 6.9% from Kazakhstan, 3.4% from Germany, and 3.2% from Belarus. Traditionally, interviews, addresses, and comments by the President of Ukraine attracted high interest among Russian-speaking viewers abroad. Volodymyr Zelenskyy's commentary on the escalation in the Kharkiv region and Russia's plans to redeploy Ukrainian troops from Eastern Ukraine to protect Kharkiv received 776 thousand views. 95.8% of views of the video came from abroad: 71.1% - from Russia; 4.7% - from Uzbekistan; 3.6% - from Kazakhstan; 2% - from Belarus. The full broadcast of the press conference of the President of Ukraine for the media of Central Asia gathered more than 100 thousand views, 95.6% of which came from abroad.  A fragment of Volodymyr Zelenskyy's address, in which the head of the Ukrainian state speaks about the need to unite international partners around Ukraine to jointly counter Russian aggression, which will make it impossible to spread the war to other countries and make Russia think about preserving its own independence, received 563 thousand views, 97.1% from abroad in general, 71.4% from Russia; 5.6% from Uzbekistan; 4.4% from Kazakhstan; 2.9% from Tajikistan.  The high attention of the audience was drawn to the inclusion of a representative of the Freedom of Russia Legion with the call sign "Caesar", who told about the group of kadyrovites who were advancing on the Kharkiv frontline destroyed by an air strike by the AFU. 85.7% of the video views came from abroad: 57% - from Russia; 4.3% - from Kazakhstan; 4.5% - from Uzbekistan; 5.7% - from Tajikistan; 2.7% - from Kyrgyzstan. The video received 408 thousand views. The analysis of personnel reshuffles in the Russian Defense Ministry, including a commentary by Russian opposition politician Gennady Gudkov, which discussed the struggle of Russian political elites for power, received 404 thousand views, of which 98.1% were from abroad: 80.7% from Russia, 2.6% from Kazakhstan, 2.3% from Belarus, and 1.4% from Germany.  The topic of the freedom struggle of the indigenous peoples of the Russian Federation and potential transformation processes in Russia is covered in May in the latest episode of the program "News of Free Peoples" with Anastasiya Klitna. The episode discusses the peaceful action plan of the Sakha Republic Independence Movement on the day of the collapse of the Russian Federation, which may occur as a result of Putin's death, a coup d'état, the overthrow of the Kremlin dictator and the seizure of power by other forces, revolution, and other unforeseen circumstances that will lead to a collapse in the country.  To provide informational support for the "I Want to Live" project and to counter Russian propaganda fakes about the "inhumane" treatment of Russian prisoners of war by Ukraine, the editorial staff systematically releases stories of Russian soldiers who took advantage of the initiative and went over to fight on the side of Ukraine.
