The Pentagon has announced the purhcase of valuable missile interceptors for air defence systems worth $2.2 billion for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This was reported by the U.S. Department of State official website. "This funding will be used to purchase interceptors for PATRIOT and NASAMS air defense systems for Ukraine. As previously announced, The Biden Administration plans to accelerate delivery of these munitions by re-sequencing upcoming Foreign Military Sales deliveries for Ukraine," reads the DoD statement. The interceptors will be procured with Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative funds. Earlier, the U.S. officials said that all the Patriot missiles orders would be postponed to provide necessary equipment to Ukraine first.
