The American publication The Hill called the counteroffensive on the territory of Russia "stunning" and interviewed experts who are thinking about the plans of the Ukrainian military. The Hill reported this. "Ukrainian troops entered Russia this week to attack the border region in a stunning counteroffensive that came after Kyiv had largely been on the defensive for the past year and a half." - explaines the publication. The publication writes that now Ukraine will have to decide what to do with the territory it holds in Russia, and whether it distracts from defense efforts on the front line. Tomas Blusevich, a researcher at Stanford University's Hoover Institute, believes that Ukraine will most likely withdraw from Kursk, but only after forcing Russia to redeploy several brigades that will use front-line positions. The publication also notes that Russia has sent reinforcements to Kursk and says it will manage to repel Ukrainian troops. Olena Kudzko, vice president of policy and programs at the GLOBSEC think tank, says that while it is not yet clear how the offensive will develop, Ukraine has successfully changed the narrative of the war by invading Russia. "Before Kursk, there was a feeling that the war had become quite predictable, and from many quarters the war was already perceived as frozen. By carrying out this attack, Ukraine actually managed to demonstrate that there is room to make this war unpredictable, that there is room to surprise Russia." - Olena Kudzko Read also: At least 219 Ukrainian civilians were killed in July — this is the largest number since October 2022, the UN reported The post Ukraine needs to decide what to do with the territory it holds in Russia, – The Hill appeared first on Freedom.
