Biden counts policy on Ukraine as one of his presidency achievements

U.S. President Joe Biden considers his policy on the war in Ukraine to be one of his most successful moments during his time in office. He brought it up at the Democratic Party convention in Chicago on August 19. "Putin thought he would capture Kyiv in three days. Three years later, Ukraine is still free," the U.S. President said. He emphasized that neither he nor Harris were to bow down before Russia's self-proclaimed president. Among other achievements in foreign policy he mentioned NATO enlargement as Finland and Sweden joined the alliance in 2023 and 2024, respectively. "I spent nearly 190 hours with my partners, the heads of state in Europe, to strengthen NATO. We have done it, and we have united Europe in a way that hasn't happened in years by adding Sweden and Finland to NATO," he concluded. Earlier, POLITICO reported that Biden administration was ‘open’ to sending long-range cruise missiles to Ukraine. They would significantly boost F-16s' capabilities.
