On Monday, the Kremlin stated that Russia would definitely respond to Ukraine's incursion into the western Kursk region and that the idea of ceasefire talks with Kyiv was no longer relevant. Reuters reports. Thousands of Ukrainian soldiers broke through the Russian border on August 6 in a surprise attack, which Russian President Vladimir Putin described as an attempt to improve Kyiv's negotiating position ahead of possible talks and to slow the advance of Russian forces along the front. "Such hostile actions cannot go unanswered. There will definitely be a response." Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters. Putin has said that Ukraine will receive a "worthy response," but he has yet to publicly specify what that response will be. Peskov also dismissed media reports suggesting there had been any kind of ceasefire negotiations between Moscow and Kyiv. "There were no negotiations," Peskov said. "There are many reports in the media about various contacts, and not all of them are accurate." Earlier, on August 26, 15 regions suffered, as a result of a massive Russian attack. The Russia used various types of weapons: UAVs, cruise missiles, “Kynzhals”. There were wounded and dead. This was reported by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal.
