The ultimate goal of concluding agreements on security guarantees is Ukraine's membership in the European Union and NATO. This was stated today, August 27, at the forum "Ukraine 24. Independence" by the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak, FREEDOM reports. The agreements on security guarantees are based on the principles of three framework documents that Ukraine has concluded: The Vilnius Declaration of the G7 countries - the EU and 32 countries have joined it, and the accession process is ongoing; the declaration between Ukraine and the European Union, which was signed in June; The Washington Declaration of NATO, which was adopted in July at the NATO summit in Washington. "These documents reflect very important principles for us on strengthening Ukraine's defense capability, developing a joint military-industrial complex, and sanctions pressure on the Russian Federation. They also reflect the ultimate goal - the integration of Ukraine into the open architecture of guarantee obligations," Yermak said. This framework was filled with the signing of bilateral agreements on security guarantees by Ukraine. To date, 25 such documents have been concluded, and five more are planned to be signed by the end of the year. “This is already a new security ecosystem, which will further transform into full membership of Ukraine in the European Union and NATO,” the head of the OPU said.
