There are three reasons: what keeps Ukraine’s partners from allowing them to fire weapons deep into Russia, Podolyak explained

There are three main reasons why Western allies do not give Ukraine permission to use their weapons on military targets located deep in Russia. Everyone is in the realm of collective psychology. This opinion was expressed on the FREEDOM TV channel by Mykhailo Podolyak, adviser to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine. “The first reason is that representatives of the political elite still live in the illusion that Russia is a relatively civilized country that violates some things, but is generally ready to adhere to some framework rules. But this is not so. Russia has gone all-in, and today it has completely thrown off its pseudo-democratic clothes and is behaving as a primitive, maximally barbaric empire should behave. That is, killing for the sake of killing and killing for the sake of controlling one’s own internal space. And the illusion that you can talk about something with Russia is extremely dangerous,” Podolyak said. The second type of illusion is that Russia can escalate the situation due to Western countries crossing certain mythical “red lines” established by Moscow. In response, Russia, as always, threatens to use nuclear weapons. “This is a road to nowhere. Because this will mean that any country with an authoritarian, totalitarian, dictatorial regime will seek to use weapons of mass destruction in order to realize its concept of external expansion. Such countries cannot provide an adequate quality of life for their own citizens. And they can keep them in tight rein by pumping up their society with pseudo-patriotic hysteria, as is happening in Russia: they say, we will fight against the whole world for the right to be what we want,” explained the adviser to the head of the OPU. The first two reasons give rise to the third - the lack of will of the collective West to take decisive action. “That is, when you need to make painful, sometimes unpopular decisions. Although in reality all these solutions will be popular. Because the aggressor, the mass murderer, must be defeated and punished. Russia must suffer not only a tactical defeat at the front, but there must also be a demonstrative trial. And the subjects who invented the genocidal type of war should sit in the dock - not only Putin, but also the composition of the Russian Security Council. They must answer tough questions so that everyone can see the psychoprofile of these people, how deeply they do not correspond to modern times, how insignificant they are in their desire to kill citizens of other countries,” Podolyak emphasized. And within the framework of international law, a country waging a defensive war has the right to destroy the main instruments of genocide that Russia uses against Ukraine. The speaker noted that we are talking about two main such instruments. Firstly, strategic aviation, with the help of which Russia launches cruise missiles at residential areas and civilian targets with the intention of killing the maximum number of civilians. And the second tool is tactical aviation, which drops KABs and FABs both on Ukrainian positions on the front line and on front-line settlements. Podolyak recalled that every month the Federal Air Transport Agency drops 3-5 thousand adjustable aerial bombs (KAB). “This can be counteracted in two ways. Shoot down planes in the air or destroy planes that are stationed at air bases or airfields. The first path is the path of counter-aviation, that is, for the same F-16 fighters. But there should be a lot of them. The second way is to use long-range missiles to destroy Russian aircraft at bases. But air bases are located at different depths in the territory of the Russian Federation. For example, a strategic aviation base is at a depth of 700-900 km. This is achievable for long-range missiles. And as soon as the West gives permission for their use in the deep territory of the Russian Federation, this will stop Russia,” summed up Mykhailo Podolyak.
