Its mission is to bring together individuals interested in natural history, promote the dissemination of knowledge, and advocate for the conservation of nature and natural resources. BioBlitz is a unique and intense 24-hour survey aimed at cataloguing the diverse species found in a specific area. The data collected not only contributes to scientific research but also raises awareness of the importance of conservation and the protection of our natural heritage. The event provides an immersive and educational experience for participants while contributing valuable data to the scientific community. The partnership between First Citizens and TTFNC began in 2012 and continued annually until 2018 before resuming in 2023. With a renewed commitment, First Citizens has sponsored the event once again this year, underscoring its dedication to environmental conservation and community engagement, the release said.
