THE National Infrastructure Development Company Ltd (NIDCO) has advised in a media release that its water taxi service has been temporarily disrupted by the bad weather. “This morning both sailings faced challenges while attempting to dock at the Port of Spain terminal,” a release from NIDCO said on the morning of August 13. “To ensure the safety of all passengers and to prevent any potential damage to the vessels, both sailings had to return to San Fernando without allowing passengers to disembark.” It said the 8.30 am sailing was also cancelled. NIDCO assured the public that safety was its first priority. It is closely monitoring the conditions and promised to provide updates on the afternoon sailing schedule.
