AN elderly businessman was robbed on August 12 of $42,000 and his car keys at his home in south Trinidad. The victim, 81, owns a lotto booth at Kings Row Bar on Manahambre Road in the Ste Madeleine district. The police said around 9.15 am on August 12, he was about to get into his Mitsubishi Lancer at his home in St Clements when a man approached him and announced a robbery. The man told him to hand over his car keys, and the two struggled. The victim was robbed of a black bag containing $42,000, the proceeds of Lotto sales, and the keys. The robber got into a white wagon nearby, which drove off along the Naparima Mayaro Road. Ste Madeleine police were called and PCs Acevero and Rambhajan responded and gathered evidence.
