Trinidad and Tobago, Guyana meet in round one of Under-17 cricket tournament

Trinidad and Tobago will play Guyana in round one of the Cricket West Indies Rising Stars Under-17 Two-Day tournament on August 14 and 15. TT will be captained by Brendan Boodoo and Fareez Ali will serve as the vice-captain. Boodoo has experience leading a national youth team to a title after being the captain of the TT Under-15 team in 2023. Boodoo, Christian Lall and Darrius Batoosingh were all on the Under-15 team crowned champions last year. The trio will try to win their second title in as many years. The two-day Under-17 tournament will be played from August 14-22, which will be followed by the 50-over tournament from August 25-September 2. Three rounds will be contested in the two-day tournament and five rounds in the 50-over competition. The six Under-17 regional teams will have the opportunity to attend the first T20 International between West Indies and South Africa at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Tarouba on August 23. TT squad: Brendan Boodoo (captain), Fareez Ali (vice-captain), Aadian Racha, Aaron Basant, Christian Lall, Darrius Batoosingh, Jayden Kent, Johanson Gajadhar, Jordan Mohammed, Joseph Mendoza, Quadeer Juman, Renaldo Fournillier, Saleem Khan, Samir Saroop, Stephen Ramkissoon (manager), Earnil Ryan (coach).
