Southern Division police apprehended two suspects hours after the murder of a Ste Madeleine man on Tuesday. Standing outside the Tarodale home of Curtis Demol, 50, as police processed the scene where his lifeless body was found hours earlier, his younger brother Dyron, 42, feared what he had to do next: inform their mother. "How we telling that to she?" he asked his younger brother Dane, 38. "Mammy is a heart patient." Apart from Dyron, Dane and another brother who were on the scene, Demol's sister Suzette was the only other member of the family who knew of Demol's death. She lived with Demol and discovered his body. She told police she heard an altercation outside the home around 9.30 am and later discovered Demol dead on the garage floor with blood coming from his head. That's when she alerted neighbours and the police were called. Tuesday was Demol's birthday. Dane told reporters he and his brothers received word through the vine Demol was chopped. Unable to reach Demol, they visited the home to see how he was doing, only to learn that he had succumbed to his injuries. He said they were shocked that he was murdered because he was not someone who interfered with people. "I not calling nothing on my brothers and them, I don't want to see none of my brothers them in a situation like that but that's not the one we expect to see like that. "Fuss we wasn't expecting he to be in that, we thinking they must be mistake him for a next brother...one who we always hear in little trouble." Demol had 14 siblings and was the eldest of 11 sons. Neighbours were also shocked at the horrific incident in their quiet community. "It is sad because we grow together," one neighbour who wished to remain unidentified said. They told Newsday that Demol lived in the community for about 30 years but lamented a little over two years ago, he began displaying symptoms of a mental condition. They described several incidents where he acted strangely with them or exhibited behaviours unexpected of a sound-minded person. A neighbour said Demol often explained his strange behaviour by saying God told him to do it. Neighbours speculated this could be why someone attacked him. Police sources told Newsday the men arrested also lived in the community. The post Police nab 2 for Tarodale murder appeared first on Trinidad and Tobago Newsday.
