COSTAATT to hold Summer in the City camps

The College of Science, Technology and Applied Arts of Trinidad and Tobago (COSTAATT) will host a series of educational camps designed to inspire and engage primary and secondary school students during the school vacation period. The programme, Summer in the City, will run from July 15-August 23 and will cater to students aged eight-18. The various camps will run for different time periods. Explorers camps eight-12 years The explorers camps aim to unlock creativity and curiosity in young minds by introducing them to the fundamentals of graphic design, webpage design, coding, security, Microsoft Office, environmental science activities, and music using pans, a media release said. Participants will engage in interactive workshops, group projects, and sessions with guest speakers. The camps will be held at the South Campus, San Fernando, and the City Campus, Port of Spain, on these dates: July 15-July 26 July 29-August 9 August 12-23 Discovery Camps, 11-14 Designed for secondary school students, the discovery camps offer specialised programmes in coding, web design, cybersecurity, and entrepreneurship. They provide hands-on learning experiences, practical demonstrations and certification upon completion, the release said. The schedule is: Creative coders: July 15-26, South Campus Web page designers: July 29-August 9, South Campus August 12-23, City Campus Cybersecurity and networking: August 12-23, South Campus Young entrepreneurs: July 15-26, Tobago Campus CPR and first aid: July 29-August 9, Tobago Campus Summer Certificates, 14-18 years The Summer Certificates programme for older students will focus on entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and personal branding. Participants will learn essential skills for their future careers through engaging workshops and practical sessions. This programme runs from August 12-23, City Campus, Port of Spain. Registration Parents and guardians can register their children early to secure a spot in these highly sought-after camps.
