Compared to earlier times, the world has started to recognize the roles and importance of women in society. While a completely safe and inclusive environment for them is a long shot away, people have taken steps to appreciate them no matter their size, age, color, SOGIESC (sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression and sex characteristics), among others. National Women's Month is celebrated every March to express gratitude and and appreciation for women. While it is specifically celebrated internationally every 8th of March, Filipina women claim the month as their own. Iza Calzado shared nude maternity photoshoots to honor mothers for having faced the hardship of giving birth, while Sparkle actress Angela Alarcon ran a 10K marathon in honor of the event. Meanwhile, public transportation gave female passengers a special day by offering free rides. Filipino mall and shopping destination, Robinsons Malls, also prepared fun and exciting promos to show appreciation to Filipina women. They also scheduled activities focusing on women's self-care and self-love. To make their initiatives a success, Robinsons even partnered with government agencies and other lifestyle organizations to show their utmost thanks and appreciation to women.
