Xi Jinping’s mystery plans take shape with biggest shift in years

A cryptic quote from President Xi Jinping in a recently published book has led to emerging plans for a significant shift in China's monetary policy. Pan Gongsheng, the governor of the People’s Bank of China (PBOC), announced that the PBOC is exploring trading government bonds in the secondary market to regulate liquidity, in line with Xi’s directive to "enrich the monetary policy toolbox."
