Silchar Medical College advisory asking female doctors, students to 'stay-inside during night hours' withdrawn amid severe backlash

Silchar Medical College and Hospital in Assam has withdrawn its advisory restricting women's movement on campus after backlash. The advisory aimed to enhance female safety in light of a recent tragic incident in Kolkata but was deemed overly restrictive. The Assam Chief Minister's Office confirmed a new advisory will follow National Medical Commission guidelines soon.
