In a bizarre and shocking incident, a beauty clinic in Wuhan, China, is facing severe backlash after tricking a 19-year-old boy into getting breast implants. The boy, identified by his last name Lu, was lured into the procedure by the clinic’s staff in July, with promises of earning money through live streaming post-surgery. The boy, who has a mental disability that gives him a mental age of around five, was initially approached by the clinic under the guise of a job offer. Chats between Lu and the staff revealed that the clinic promised him full board and a monthly stipend of about $400 USD. Once there, the staff convinced him that getting breast implants would make him more popular and financially successful online. Despite expressing concerns, the clinic persuaded Lu to take out loans totaling 37,000 yuan (approximately $5,182 USD) to finance the surgery. The procedure resulted in B-cup breasts and left him with two long scars beneath his chest. The aftermath of the surgery, including the trauma of getting the implants removed, has left Lu and his family devastated. A lawyer from the Hubei Today Law Firm commented on the legality of the case, stating that since Lu lacks the capacity for civil conduct, the procedure was not only a scam but also illegal without parental consent.
