Madhya Pradesh Cracks Down on Madrasas for Forced Religious Education

The Madhya Pradesh government has ordered strict action against Madrasas imparting religious education to non-Muslim children without consent, citing Article 28 (3) of the Indian Constitution. The order, issued on August 16, mandates stopping government grants and taking legal action against such institutions. Education Minister Uday Pratap Singh announced investigations into Madrasas following complaints about forced religious education. Congress spokesperson Abbas Hafeez criticised the government, accusing it of disturbing communal harmony.
