Easily treated in most cases, common monsoon maladies land a few in ICUs

In late July, several cases of severe monsoon-related illnesses were reported in Mumbai. Babu, a 30-year-old from Andheri, was diagnosed with leptospirosis, requiring intensive care. Another patient, a street hawker, was treated for cholera. Doctors noted a rise in dengue, malaria, and H1N1 cases, causing significant healthcare strain and financial burdens for families.
