Extend cutoff date of CAA: East Pakistan refugees’ group

An association of refugees from former East Pakistan, now Bangladesh, urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to extend the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) cut-off date from December 31, 2014, to 2024. This appeal aimed to help Hindus escaping persecution in Bangladesh given the current crisis. The organization requested a simplified citizenship process using affidavits instead of extensive documentation.
