Patriarchal sexist beliefs in India make women susceptible to gender violence: Report

An academic study by researchers from the UK, New Zealand, and the US finds that patriarchal beliefs in India, including those framed as protective, worsen violence against women. The study shows both hostile and benevolent sexism perpetuate gender inequality and increase women's vulnerability to violence within relationships.
