Following allegations that Rahat Fateh Ali Khan had been detained in Dubai, the Pakistani vocalist refuted the reports on Monday, describing them as "false". According to Pakistan's Geo News, citing sources from Dubai police, it was reported that the singer had been apprehended due to a defamation complaint filed by his former manager Salman Ahmed. Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, in a video posted on the microblogging platform X (formerly Twitter), refuted claims of his arrest as false and without merit. Sources from Geo News reported that Rahat's former manager had lodged complaints against him with authorities in Dubai. Allegedly, Rahat had terminated Ahmed's employment several months ago following a disagreement, leading to reciprocal legal actions between the two. Addressing viewers in the video, the Pakistani singer clarified, "I am currently in Dubai to record songs, and my work is going smoothly. Please disregard the false news. My fans are my strength." Earlier this year, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan was embroiled in controversy when a viral video purportedly showed him hitting a man, whom he identified as his student, with a shoe. Another segment of the video depicted individuals intervening to protect the student from further harm. Identified as an employee of Pakistani broadcaster Samaa TV, the man expressed concern about the increasing incidence of violent behavior among singers. "The video claims Rahat Fateh Ali Khan was caught mistreating his servant. He later provided an explanation," wrote the X user in the caption.
