Delhi Police has requested the DMRC to install platform screen doors at all metro stations to reduce suicides. While only 70 out of 190 stations currently have these doors, the remaining 120 are seen as vulnerable. The urgency was highlighted by 18 suicides reported in 2022 and 22 in 2023. Recent incidents include a 68-year-old man committing suicide at Kashmere Gate on July 11. Officials believe these safety measures are essential to curb the rising trend.
