All You Need to Know About The Viral Fart Walk Trend

There is jogging and brisk walk, but recently, a new type of walk has gone viral on social media, called the Fart Walk. This fitness TikTok trend is for everyone who struggles with bloating, indigestion, gas, heartburn and other digestive problems.  Toronto-based cookbook author Mairlyn Smith created this new walk that became viral on Tik Tok. In a TikTok video, she shared that she and her husband head out every night 60 minutes after dinner for their fart walk. "Now, why do we do this? Well, we eat a lot of fibre, so we have gas—everybody does—and, yeah, you fart while you walk. So that’s why I named it that." Experts and several studies have shown that taking a stroll after a meal facilitates better nutrient absorption and food breakdown by the gastrointestinal (GI) tract. So in simple words, this walk helps in digestion and eases discomfort. Benefits of Fart Walking:  Better gut motility- Food passes through the GI system more quickly when you walk, research indicates that fart walks hasten the process of food transfer from the stomach to the small intestine, known as gastric emptying. Good For Heart - Walking raises heart rate, which strengthens the heart muscle and improves blood circulation, both of which are beneficial to cardiovascular health. Improved blood sugar levels- According to studies, 30-minute walks every day can regulate blood sugar levels and help those with type 2 diabetes or insulin resistance. Weight Management - Daily walking is good for weight management since it increases metabolism, burns calories, and tones muscles. Joint Health - Walking is easy on the joints, strengthening surrounding muscles and increasing range of motion.
