Mohammed Kudus helps Tottenham to Champions League win over Villarreal

Mohammed Kudus had a quieter game by his standards but contributed as Tottenham Hotspur defeated Villarreal 1-0 in London on Tuesday night. The Ghana international, who joined Spurs in the summer from West Ham United for £55m, showed glimpses of his quality in his first Champions League outing for the club. He completed two of his six attempted dribbles (67%) and recorded 82% passing accuracy in the final third, helping Tottenham sustain their attacking rhythm.Spurs made the perfect start, going ahead inside four minutes when Villarreal goalkeeper Luiz Júnior diverted Lucas Bergvall’s cross into his own net. Despite the visitors creating openings through former Arsenal forward Nicolas Pépé, they were unable to find an equaliser. 🇬🇭Mohammed Kudus and 🇬🇭Thomas Partey share a moment after Spurs 1-0 VillarealGhana link up🙌🏻🙌🏻 pic.twitter.com/G3NelguPWQ— George Addo Jnr (@addojunr) September 16, 2025Kudus’ debut adds to his growing European résumé, having previously featured in the competition with Ajax.
