Sannie Daara urges patience with Otto Addo amid growing criticism

Former Ghana Football Association (GFA) Communications Director Ibrahim Sannie Daara has called for calm in the ongoing debate over the future of Black Stars head coach Otto Addo, stressing that demands for his dismissal are premature.Addo, who signed a three-year contract in February 2024, has come under mounting pressure despite collecting four points in September’s 2026 World Cup qualifiers, drawing 1-1 with Chad before securing a 1-0 victory over Mali.Critics have questioned whether he is the right man to lead Ghana to the next World Cup, citing the team’s inconsistent performances. But Sannie Daara believes judgment should be reserved until qualification is decided.“Calling for Otto Addo’s sack now is too hasty,” he told Asempa FM. “We should wait until the Black Stars’ World Cup qualification is decided.”Despite failing to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, Addo has delivered crucial wins earlier in the campaign and remains charged with guiding Ghana through key fixtures against the Central African Republic and Comoros next month.Ghana will secure qualification to the United States, Mexico and Canada tournament with one win in their remaining two games.
