Samartex owner not fixated on defending Ghana Premier League title

Samartex FC owner, Richard Duah Nsenkyire, has downplayed the pressure of defending the Ghana Premier League title.Despite the club's historic win last season, Nsenkyire is focused on building a stronger squad for multiple competitions including the CAF Champions League."Once we've won the league, there will be a lot of pressure on us next season. It's not that we have to defend the title at all costs," he told Kessben FM.Nsenkyire believes that expanding the squad and ensuring player fitness are more crucial than solely defending the league title."Next season, we are going to play three competitions (FA Cup, Ghana Premier League and CAF Champions League) so it is much more about how to deepen our squad, how to get our players fit and not thinking of winning the league at all cost," he said.Samartex are preparing for their CAF Champions League debut against Victoria United on August 18th in Douala.The return leg will be played in Accra on August 25th.
