Legon Cities to rely on second division players

Legon Cities FC have adopted a unique approach to squad building for the upcoming Ghana Premier League season.Instead of signing established players, the club will focus on recruiting talents from the country's fourth tier.Head coach Paa Kwesi Fabin revealed that this strategy proved successful last season, as the club managed to narrowly escape relegation."At Legon Cities, we don’t make signings, we only recruit Second Division players. Last season, we did the same and it worked out," he said."We picked Tenedu from Ebony FC in Kumasi and he is now a star. That is what Legon Cities is made of.The Royals are aiming to replicate this approach to avoid a similar fate in the 2024/25 campaign.Legon Cities' decision to prioritise second division players is a bold strategy that could pay dividends if successful. They will open their campaign against Gold Stars in September.
