Black Princesses depart for Colombia ahead of World Cup

The Black Princesses are set to depart for Colombia on Tuesday, August 13, as they ramp up preparations for the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.The team has been undergoing intensive training in Cape Coast since June 27, focusing on tactical strategies, physical conditioning, and team cohesion.They concluded their local preparations with a friendly defeat against Avenor Stars U15 boys on Monday.Ghana has been drawn into Group E alongside Austria, Japan, and New Zealand.The Black Princesses will be aiming to break their record of failing to progress beyond the group stage in previous World Cup appearances.With recent victories at the 2023 African Games and the WAFU B Girls Cup, the Black Princesses are confident in their ability to make a significant impact on the world stage.The tournament will start on August 31, with Ghana’s first game scheduled for September 2 against Austria at the Estadio Metropolitano de Techo in Bogotá.
