Ghana defender Mohammed Salisu satisfied with pre-season, eager for UCL with AS Monaco

Ghana defender Mohammed Salisu is excited to have completed full pre-season with French giants AS Monaco. The Black Stars centre-back and his AS Monaco team wrapped up preparations for the new season with a thumping victory over Spanish outfit FC Barcelona. Salisu lasted the entire duration as Monaco defeated Barcelona 3-0 to win the Joan Gamper Trophy. The former Southampton defender is expected to play a huge role in the club's campaign, having only featured for half-a-season since arriving last summer.“It's something really important for me. Last year I arrived injured and I was only able to play half the season. Now I've done the preseason with the team and I'm in good shape,” he told Mundo Deportivo.Monaco will be making a return to the UEFA Champions League after finishing second in Ligue 1 last season.“So is the team. We've had a great campaign, we finished second and now we have to play in the Champions League. We have to keep going like this. We will achieve many things," added Salisu.
