Medeama SC technical director Augustine Evans Adotey has cited the demanding travel schedule as a significant factor in the team's disappointing performance in the Ghana Premier League last season. After winning their first league title in the 2022/23 season, the Yellow and Mauves dropped to eighth place in the following campaign. The team’s participation in three competitions, including the CAF Champions League where they advanced to the group stage, took a toll.Adotey noted, "Playing away from home, travelling to and fro, the team was engaged in outstanding matches. Talk of the Premier League, after an outstanding Premier League game, you have to travel back to Cape Coast. Sometimes you travel from Kumasi to Takwa. Takwa to Cape Coast, it was terrible."Despite the challenges, Adotey remains focused on the future, saying, "The target now for Medeama is to reclaim the title. Unfortunately, it slipped by, but all the same, I'm saying the past is gone. All that we need to do is defend the title."The new season will kick off on September 6 with Medeama facing Accra Lions in their first match.
