Ghana coach Otto Addo says he felt ready to take the next step in his coaching career, which led to his return to the Black Stars on a full-time basis.After a brief stint where he guided Ghana to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, where the team exited at the group stage against Portugal, Uruguay, and South Korea, Addo has now assumed the role permanently.The team was previously managed by Chris Hughton, but his unsuccessful 2023 Africa Cup of Nations campaign led to Addo’s return.The former Ghanaian international has been given a long-term contract, to build a new team capable of competing for honours.In an interview with FIFA, Addo explained, "The first time I came I got a release from Borussia Dortmund [where I worked as a talent coach] to join for six months, but under the commitment that I had to come back."He added, "I played for Dortmund for six years and coached for five years, so it was very important to keep that relationship and my promise.
