Bawumia promises to settle unpaid bonuses for Ghana’s Amputee team

NPP presidential candidate Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has pledged to resolve the issue of unpaid bonuses for Ghana’s national amputee football team, the Black Challenge.The team, which won the 2024 African Amputee Football Cup of Nations (AAFCON) in May, has been struggling financially despite their victory.They triumphed over Morocco 2-1 in the final but have since relied on external donations to support themselves.During a recent Meet the Press session, Dr Bawumia promised to address the issue with the Sports Minister to ensure that the team receives all owed bonuses."Looking at the national amputee team who are owed some allowances, I will talk to the Sports Minister to get the facts on the issue and if that is the case we will try to expedite their payment.
