Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Okraku unveiled new initiatives aimed at enhancing the promotion and competitiveness of Ghanaian football.Okraku highlighted the GFA’s commitment to actively investing in the promotion of the Ghana Premier League (GPL), Women's Premier League (WPL), Division One League (DOL), and off-season competitions."Apart from getting all clubs to be interested in marketing and promoting our clubs and club-related activities, the GFA will be active in investing to promote our GPL, WPL, DOL, and all our off-season competitions," he said during the 30th Ordinary Congress at the Ghanaman Soccer Center of Excellence in Prampram.A significant new development includes an increased focus on player incentives. Through a partnership with Betpawa, the GFA will introduce locker room match cash bonuses for players in the GPL and WPL.This initiative will also extend to three members of each team’s technical staff. Okraku believes this will encourage greater competitiveness among players and elevate the overall standard of the leagues. These measures are part of the GFA’s broader strategy to enhance football infrastructure, talent development, and league attractiveness, reflecting the association’s ongoing efforts to drive progress in Ghanaian football.
